Stake is looking for a hungry Data Analyst to support our Product and Marketing team in Sydney, The Data function is all about using insights gained by analyzing data from our market leading trading platform to improve our knowledge of our customers, their experience with Stake and ultimately our commercial performance.

About this role

As a Data Analyst at Stake, you will be instrumental in constantly improving commercial performance of the business by helping us identify and measure the core metrics that improve customer value.

You will work closely with Product, Marketing and a broader range of stakeholders across the business to influence decisions through data-based insights.

You will have access to the tools you need as well as the support from the business to shape our data function. If successful in this role, you will be a real asset and hugely valued by the company.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and marketing optimisation, using modeling to execute, test and iterate.
  • Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing campaigns and tactics and business strategies.
  • Input into our product analytics framework to help us continuously identify opportunities to use data to improve business performance.
  • Help us identify core customer segments and gain deeper insight into these groups in a way that can help us improve how we connect with them and strengthen their experience.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

A bit about you

  • First and foremost, you’re an eager, ambitious and friendly person who likes being part of an energetic team environment
  • You’re passionate about championing data-led insights to drive commercial outcomes
  • You’re a problem solver who uses analytical tools and techniques help inform strategies, tactics and optimisations
  • You have strong skills not only in the accumulation of data but also highly capable of the interpretation and building of narratives from the data
  • You have some experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Strong experience using Excel and data visualisation tools like Mixpanel, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts and experience with applications.
